T3 Philly: Training
Running: We typically have weekly track practices Tuesday evenings at Penn Park/Temple starting at 6pm. We have frequent group runs over the Ben Franklin Bridge and practice "race pace" runs on the Schuylkill River Trail.
Cycling: As the weather warms up, We have "Dawn Patrol" rides on weekday mornings during warmer months and more group rides on the weekend. These typically start from the Art Museum or Lloyd Hall. We have become more active with virtual events, such as challenges on different Strava segments and races on Zwift (ZRL and more).
Swimming: We don't have many group swims since we all have memberships at different gyms, but during the summer, teammates will often coordinate trips to Kelly Pool (in Fairmount Park) or open water swim courses in the Schuylkill and others in Downingtown, PA, Medford, NJ or Ocean City, NJ. Some of our teammates also swim with a local masters swim team, Philadelphia FINS.
Races: We would also have a major presence at key races throughout the racing season and in recent years have had team cheer stations on race courses like the Philadelphia Marathon or Broad Street Run. See "Focus Races" above.
Many of our athletes additionally pair up with teammates about the same speed and distance to plan their own rides or runs. We have a team "Bulletin Board" group on Facebook where we post events and all club happenings. We also have a Discord server to facilitate more member-to-member conversation across various topics, for example where team members typically would post about wanting a run partner, etc.
