2024 T3 BOARD
The T3 Philly Multisport Board is made up of 8 volunteer members with elections taking place each year.
Matthew is a qualified Chartered Accountant who moved to Philly with his wife Chelsea in 2019. He is originally from South Africa where his love of cycling and triathlon first started. Matthew has raced a few 70.3s in South African, Japan and the US and completed his first full Ironman (Lake Placid) in 2022. Joining T3 was a great way to meet like minded people in a new city and be part of an active community. His favorite thing about T3 is the group rides to various bakeries and the Track Tuesday work outs. When he is not working on one of his bikes or riding (Outdoors or on Zwift) he likes to enjoy some good South African wine.

Chelsea started triathlon and joined T3 in 2020 after years of cheering her husband Matthew in the sport. Before finding triathlon Chelsea was just a runner, and now with the support of T3, has finished several tris, from Olympic distance to full Ironman! Her favorite thing about T3 is group workouts and rides, where camaraderie, challenge, pastries and many laughs lead the way. Chelsea is also a certified RRCA running coach, and in her free time enjoys coaching others. Outside of triathlon Chelsea is a PE teacher in Philadelphia.

April Cardone’s first triathlon was in 2009. Afterward, she famously said, “This is the worst sport ever. I’m never doing this again.” She didn’t race again until 2012, but once she did, she realized why people enjoy the sport. April has continued to race triathlons every year since then, joining T3 in 2017. Her favorite part of T3 is meeting new people and watching them accomplish their goals. April is not a fan of the swim portion of tris, so she volunteers as a swim buddy at the lake to offer new swimmers a sense of security and a personal swim cheerleader. In her spare time, April is learning to sail.

After moving to Philly with his wife in 2019, Jaws set out to complete a sprint triathlon while searching for a job. While he was successful on both accounts, he quickly realized that it took more than a training plan and time to compete in triathlons. Joining T3 in late 2020, Jaws found mentorship and a wonderful community of athletes that motivated and propelled him through to the finish line of Ironman Lake Placid in 2022.
Outside of triathlon, Jaws is a pharmacist and clinical toxicologist who practices at the local Poison Control Center, constantly reminding people not to eat glue (amongst other things).

Korey’s journey into triathlon began with a promise to complete what he initially thought was impossible: a full Ironman. After joining T3 Philly in 2021, he found a community of friends filled with grit, selflessness, and kindness. Since then, he has completed that “impossible” Ironman, countless 70.3s, and quit his 9-to-5 to coach triathlon full-time (aukathletics.com). Outside of triathlon, Korey enjoys traveling in his RV, watching the Cincinnati Bengals, and checking out new local bars.

A few years ago Craig found himself in a position where athleticism provided him with a sense of control he couldn’t find elsewhere, both physically and mentally. The deeper he dove into fitness, the more opportunities appeared to connect with like minded people who shared his passion of using sports as a way to stay balanced in life. He joined T3 and discovered the power of uplifting others who in turn uplifted him. He has since completed numerous triathlons as well as other running and cycling races with many more on the horizon. Craig is also the founder of Mural Miles, a nonprofit running and art curation group with a mission to inspire human potential through community fitness and art.
